WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE ACTION.  PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM TO SUPPORT OUR PETITION.

Hello, and thank you for taking action via this petition to Mayor Andrew Ginther and the Columbus City Council. This petition is to terminate the proposal to charge fees-for-access to programming, services, and activities at Columbus Community Centers which is basically an additional tax.  Further, this petition seeks to end the practice by the Department of Recreation and Parks of making clandestine decisions (ex. charging fees, drastically altering hours of operation, changing programming, etc.) without input and agreement from the community that is being impacted.

Each of the Community Centers is vital to the community served. The growing fee-based structure creates barrier to access and participation which can have a direct impact on the well-being of Columbus residents. The community is best served with a commitment to fund the Community Center through the City's budget with appropriate resource for staffing, programs and services at the community level.

By signing this petition, you're voicing your support to 1) terminate the plan to implement a new fee structure; 2) mandate Department of Recreation and Park representatives meet with and obtain agreement from those who may be impacted by proposals, and 3) to urge our Mayor and our City Council to prioritize staffing and financial resource to support programs, services and activities in the community centers and parks to eliminate fees and support members across all ages of the Columbus Ohio community.

Your signature is more than just a name; it's a call to action for positive change. Join us in shaping a brighter future for our city.
