The Issue

Governor Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and the Texas State Legislature

We, the undersigned, call for a full and transparent investigation into the proposed EPIC City development, a planned community near Plano, Texas, led by the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC). This project raises serious concerns about transparency, legality, and adherence to American values.

**Our Concerns:**
1. **Lack of Transparency** – EPIC City has not clearly disclosed its funding sources, (foreign or otherwise) legal structure, or long-term goals. The public has a right to know whether this project aligns with existing zoning laws and state regulations.

2. **Exclusive Religious Community?** – Reports suggest that this development may be designed primarily for Muslim residents, raising legal and ethical concerns about religious exclusivity in housing. Such a model contradicts American principles of equal access and integration.

3. **Potential for Extremism** – Concentrated religious enclaves can sometimes create an environment where radical ideologies flourish. Without proper oversight, this development could become a breeding ground for beliefs and practices that contradict U.S. laws and values.

4. **Sharia Law Concerns** – Governor Abbott has already stated that “Sharia law is not allowed in Texas.” A full investigation is needed to ensure that EPIC City will fully comply with state and federal laws, including the prohibition of foreign legal systems.

 **We Demand:**
- A full-scale investigation into the funding, legal status, and purpose of EPIC City.
- Public disclosure of all agreements, zoning applications, and internal policies.
- Immediate action from state officials to prevent any unlawful or unconstitutional practices within this development.

Separation of Church and State Concerns: Some individuals might worry about the perceived overlap of religion and community development, especially if public funds or resources are used to support the religious aspects of the project.

This is not about religious discrimination; this is about protecting American values, ensuring transparency, and upholding the law. If EPIC City complies fully with state and federal regulations, it should have no issue proving it.

There are ongoing investigations into potential violations of state laws, including foreign land ownership concerns, misrepresentation to investors, and unauthorized business operations (such as the alleged unlicensed funeral home). Immediate action ensures that any legal violations are addressed before they grow into more significant problems that could affect public trust or lead to costly legal battles.
