I am a resident of Glen Tay Road, and every day I witness egregious violations of the speed limit here. Township speed studies document these violations as well. Serious accidents occur here annually, and it is only a matter of time before one of these accidents results in bodily harm to residents or visitors to the Glen Tay Swimming Area. More deliberate and concerted action is needed to ensure the safety of our community.

My child plays here alongside other neighbourhood children who deserve to enjoy their community without the risk posed by speeding motorists. The river in Glen Tay is a beloved attraction, drawing people from all over throughout the year. This influx of visitors only makes it more crucial that effective speed control measures are put in place to protect everyone who enjoys this beautiful area.

We are calling on Tay Valley Township to take stronger action to enforce the speed limit on Glen Tay Road. Specifically, we request the installation of speed tables throughout the 40 km/h zone, as they have proven effective in slowing traffic and reducing accidents. At the very least, we are requesting that the township install active speed abatement infrastructure which will encourage traffic to participate in safe driving in our community. It is imperative that the township prioritize road safety measures to protect both residents and visitors.
