I am writing to you with a heartfelt request to honor the memory of my brother Issiah Jordan Dilone, who tragically passed away from cancer at the tender age of 17 on June 2nd 2015, by renaming Keap Street in Brooklyn, NY, after him where he grew up all his life & where his mom Befalia Dilone, grandparents family & friends still reside.

For the past nine years, Issiah's family and friends have held memorials on this very block to honor his memory. These gatherings have not only provided comfort to those who knew and loved Issiah but have also strengthened the sense of community among us. By renaming the street, we would be acknowledging the deep connection that Issiah’s spirit continues to have with Keap Street and its residents.

Issiah was more than just a resident of our neighborhood; he was a son, grandson, brother, friend and cousin to everyone he's ever come across. He was a beacon of hope, strength, and community spirit. Despite his young age, Issiah touched the lives of countless individuals with his humor, unwavering positivity and resilience. His battle with leukemia was fought with extraordinary courage and grace, inspiring everyone around him.

Renaming Keap Street after Issiah would serve as a lasting tribute to his legacy. It would be a constant reminder of the incredible impact he had on our community and the profound lessons he taught us about perseverance, compassion, and the importance of cherishing every moment. 

Issiah's story is one of bravery and love. Even in the face of adversity, he remained a source of joy and support for his friends and family. By honoring him in this way, we would not only commemorate his life but also inspire future generations to embody the same values he lived by.
