Turtlegrass Resort, a visionary eco-resort development and defender of the North Bay, today released a powerful new video. It includes computer-generated visuals illustrating what is being proposed for the North Bay of Sampson Cay, based on the developer's publicly submitted plans. It illustrates, in stark visual terms, what the proposed dredging, seawall, and industrial traffic could actually look like — including the impact on coastal and marine environments, and large ships passing within 200 feet of beaches in recreational areas.

Beyond the visuals, what makes this video especially important is the solution it puts forward. Moving the industrial dock and back-of-house facilities to the south end of Sampson Cay, where deep water already exists and where Yntegra is already planning to excavate and dredge for two superyacht marinas — would eliminate the need to touch the North Bay entirely. No additional dredging through living habitat. No seawall. No fuel ships near pristine beaches and recreational areas.

Thanks to your support, public outcry is building and the community continues to push back. It's no surprise people are frustrated. Yntegra withdrew its original site plan last year following public objections and claims to have adjusted their plans in response to community concerns. Yet the plain fact remains: the project continues to push forward with plans to dredge the North Bay and introduce a commercial shipping channel to service the Rosewood resort. No number of revisions have yet changed this unacceptable fact. This developer chose a difficult place to put a development of this scale. That's not our environment's problem to solve, and it's not the community's burden to bear.
