Supporter,
A recent independent community survey conducted in Staniel Cay and Black Point offers valuable insight into how residents really feel about environmental protection, development and the proposed Yntegra/Rosewood Hotels resort.
The insights from the survey show near-unanimous community support for protecting seagrass, coral reefs, and clean water, along with serious concern about the proposed dredging, 390’ seawall, and other aspects of the project. Residents also expressed a clear preference for smaller, low-impact development that fits the islands and respects local values.
These findings confirm what has long been understood: protecting the environment and supporting the communities who depend on it must go hand in hand.
The Save Exuma Alliance has published a short summary of the survey on their website. I strongly encourage you to read it and explore the full report and community responses at the link below:

This survey provides an important opportunity for decision makers to understand local priorities through credible, independent research, and to ground future decisions in the perspectives of those who call these islands home.
Sincerely,
Eric Carey
