The Problem

The BSA has recently announced that they will be changing their name from Boy scouts of America to Scouting America to be more inclusive to girls who join Boy scouts. 

Why It Matters

For 114 years our organisation has been called BSA. Changing this would ruin the history of Boy scouts. Also the name just sounds plain bad compared to the original name. Boy scouts was made for boys to learn and mature into functioning members of society, Also a place for boys to be with other boys and to enjoy themself through the company and fellowship of other boy scouts and removing the name would remove any trace of these original values. the whole reason they are doing this is to get membership up and  being more inclusive and changing the name is how they think they are going to do it. Boy scouts isn't for everyone but I know a lot of people who I would have never thought to join, did. Changing the name to be more inclusive isn't going to help memberships advertising all the amazing benefits of Scouting will. 

What We Can Do About It 

 There isn't much we can do about it right now the best we can do right now is to voice our opposition to this change and to sign petitions.
