Central Hudson is a monopoly energy company operating across the Hudson Valley.

In Greene County, they have taken advantage of their constituents for years, by offering inaccurate energy readings, called "estimates" in addition to charging ever increasing "delivery" fees. As they are a monopoly, our community members have no choice but to pay these increasing fees which are ever fluctuating, increasing, and have no clear structure for how these fees are derived. 

These fees are crippling our working class community and forcing displacement for those who are unable to keep up with the rising costs of living coupled with inflation. This petition is to ABOLISH or CAP all delivery fees in our county, as the cost of energy continues to increase regardless of increasing delivery fees. 

Countless communities in the Hudson Valley are no doubt affected by these additional fees, however, Greene County which is one of the most underserved counties in the state needs better protections from predatory  corporations taking advantage of people's needs to stay warm and have livable housing and conditions.

We urge the New York Public Service Commission to cap delivery charges or work with Central Hudson to eliminate them completely and stop price gauging our hard working community members.
