Taylor Swift is one of the most significant artists in history. She has broken barriers in both entertainment and media, as well as shattered the glass ceiling for women and independent artists by advocating for their rights. She takes on companies such as Big Machine Records, Spotify and Ticketmaster, despite the risks, and triumphs. She channels her disappointments, disputes and depression into productive endeavors and inspires millions with her resilience and resourcefulness.

Her Eras Tour is the highest grossing tour of all time, the first to ever gross $1 billion, toppling attendance records almost everywhere she goes. Swiftonomics was coined to describe her tour's effect on local economies all over the US, and countries wooed her to perform for fans in their region. Millions of disappointed fans were crushed after the Ticketmaster debacle, the continuing demand that sell out tickets to each concert, and scammers that have taken advantage of hapless buyers. As someone who was waitlisted twice, waited the whole day in line, unable to get tickets, even when willing to travel to another country and on the opposite coast, I've been able to go to multiple showings of the Eras Tour concert film but it is not the same. Finally resorted to buying reseller tickets but not everyone was able to do this, so being able to visit items from the tour would be the next best thing.

People get excited over seeing the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz, the Star Wars droids, Prince's yellow guitar, Oprah's golden microphone, Stephen Colbert's portrait, and other pop culture items so imagine how any Taylor Swift donations might be received. All artifacts donated to the Smithsonian are, in effect, given to the American people and, when on exhibit, accessible to all visitors, nationally and internationally, for free. One of the greatest gifts Taylor Swift can give to her fans, especially those who were unable to watch her on the Eras Tour, would be to donate some of her multiple costumes from the tour. Personally, I'd love for any of the outfits to be on display as an example of her success, but I know others would like to see specific ones, like the Lover bodysuit, the Reputation costume, etc. Getting the cleaning cart would be a dream, too.
