Thanks to all who are sharing their voices and sharing the petition to stop CSWR/Magnolia Water's continued pillaging of customers! The petition has received 1,100+ sigs and quickly growing. Reminder, this is a statewide effort, so please share!

The petition has been modified to reflect the monopoly water company's additional filing with the LA Public Service Commission, a request that the Formulary Rate Plan (FRP) originally submitted to allow for up to three years of rate increases be extended an additional three years. What this means is that, if approved, in addition to the request for 2025 increases, CSWR/Magnolia Water can request even more increases in 2026, 2027 and 2028. This is outrageous and must not be approved by the LPSC! 

Modifications to the petition are clearly marked as CSWR/Magnolia Water item 8 and LPSC Item 5.

NOTICE OF PROTEST 

re: Dockets U-37584 AND U-37570, in relation to original FRP Docket U-35822.

As a customer paying for Magnolia Water services, this letter serves as a formal Notice of Protest to CSWR/Magnolia Water’s request to extend the FRP (U-35822) an additional three years, and Notice of Protest to CSWR/Magnolia Water’s request to increase rates per Docket U-37570 due to the following issues: 

Include in your letter your personal reasons for opposing the increases, including any or all of these problems:

• Frequent boil water advisories and/or service interruptions
• Unsafe/discolored water
• Insufficient notices regarding service disruptions
• Continued rate increases despite subpar service
• Lack of billing adjustments prorated to service outages
• Objections to CSWR/Magnolia Water’s continuing efforts to acquire additional water systems while neglecting its obligation to provide promised repairs to the systems it has already acquired
  If objecting by mail, please send the original signed document plus five additional copies with signatures (may be duplicates copies or all five with original signatures.)

Protests opposing the 2025 increases should be received by June 3, and Protests opposing the three-year extension of the FRP should be received by June 7, so please don't delay if you wish to object via postal mail.
