Residents will hold a community meeting at the Shaker Heights Public Library at 1pm Sunday, July 12 to review what the public knows, what we have found out through research, and what are next steps for the community.
Agenda will cover:

- What is possible on Lomond and what resources do we have
- WTH just happened on Lynnfield and next steps
Much of what we know we found through public information requests from NEORSD and online searches. Which public information requests to the City of Shaker Heights go unfilled?
Multiple residents have requested copies of the contractor's contracts, statements of work, any modifications of these. Why has that information not been shared yet? We are told they are bogged down with requests and that they are getting the same requests. This means this is important to people. To ease the city's burden and fulfill their legal responsibility, they could share the requested public documents on their webpage. These documents are public and should be made accessible by law.

A chart inserted on the page this week included an assessment of tree health by Shaker's own arborist. If you see what was done to the Lynnfield trees, it calls this assessment into question. Does the city really know how to handle our urban forest? The advisory tree council seems to support all the work being administered by the Department of Public Works.
While an outside arborist should always be sought to ensure only a compromised tree is removed, it is still not clear why the entire tree lawn would be excavated. The sewer should be installed in the road and allow any of these healthy trees to live out their useful lives.
