The Streatham Hill Theatre is a cherished local landmark with rich historical and cultural significance. We, the undersigned members and supporters of Ruach City Church, strongly support the Church’s planning application to change the use of this building into a vibrant centre for worship, arts, and community activities.

Our support is based on three key reasons:

1. Protecting a Heritage Asset

Ruach City Church has already invested hundreds of thousands of pounds to stabilise and preserve the historic Streatham Hill Theatre. The Church is committed to the building’s long-term care, ensuring this important heritage asset is safeguarded for future generations.

2. Proven Community Benefit

With over 30 years of community programming and a congregation of 2,000 members, Ruach is one of Streatham’s largest charities. The Church provides vital services across Lambeth, including:

• A food bank supporting families in need
• Counselling and rehabilitation support
• Adult education and wellbeing programs
• Arts and music events that bring the community together.

3. Shared and Compatible Use

Ruach is dedicated to ensuring the Streatham Hill Theatre remains a shared space accessible to the wider community. Just as at their Kilburn site, the Church will enable access for community events, arts, education, and other public benefit activities.

We urge Lambeth Council to support this planning application and help restore the Streatham Hill Theatre back into public use as a thriving centre of worship, culture, and community life.
