Petition in Support of Dr. My Le Trinh: A Call for Justice and Integrity

We, the undersigned, stand in unwavering support of Dr. My Le Trinh, a highly respected physician with nearly 30 years of exemplary medical practice. Dr. Trinh has dedicated her life to serving her community with integrity and compassion, always putting her patients' health and well-being first. At the time of the complaints and investigation, she had a spotless record, with no lawsuits or prior complaints against her. Despite this, she now faces persecution by the HCCC, the Medical Council, and other regulatory bodies. This treatment is unjust, and we demand that it stop immediately.

The Case Against Dr. Trinh
Dr. Trinh's ordeal began when she prescribed ivermectin—a proven, safe, and effective medication—to treat patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her commitment to early treatment and saving lives led to her being targeted by health regulators, who prioritized enforcing rigid policies over addressing patient needs.

Although there was no genuine emergency, the Medical Council unlawfully declared one to justify suspending her license. To compound this injustice, Dr. Trinh was suspended indefinitely—a punishment grossly disproportionate to the circumstances. Her medical insurer refused to fight for her in court, effectively leaving her defenseless and forcing her toward retirement. This setup by the regulatory bodies appeared designed to end her medical career, disregarding her decades of dedicated service to the profession.

The complaints against her were:

Initiated without patient consent.
Filed by individuals who were either anonymous or lacked credibility (e.g., the mysterious "John Smith," whose identity remains undisclosed).
Clearly coordinated to create a false narrative of malpractice.

The Broader Context
During the pandemic, Dr. Trinh went above and beyond to save lives, fulfilling her duty as a physician to prioritize her patients' well-being. While she did not challenge the government’s decision to restrict ivermectin, she remained committed to her oath to "first do no harm" and to provide the best possible treatment for her patients. Before the nationwide ban on ivermectin, Dr. Trinh legally prescribed it as part of evidence-based early treatment protocols, demonstrating her dedication to saving lives during an unprecedented health crisis.

Three years later, Dr. Trinh remains suspended, facing ongoing threats to her livelihood. The HCCC now seeks to extend her suspension for another 3–5 years, revoke her license, impose heavy fines, and charge her the full cost of the prosecution hearing. These actions are not just punitive but represent a broader attack on doctors who value patient care over bureaucracy.

Upcoming Hearing: December 9, 2024
From December 9 to 12, 2024, Dr. Trinh will face a prosecution hearing that threatens to end her medical career permanently. This hearing is the culmination of years of targeted persecution by health regulators intent on punishing a doctor whose only "crime" was to uphold her oath to do no harm. The outcome of this hearing will not only impact Dr. Trinh but also set a dangerous precedent for all health practitioners in Australia.

Our Demands
We call on the HCCC to:

1. Cease All Actions Against Dr. Trinh: Drop the unjust and unfounded complaints against her immediately.
2. Recognize Her Contributions: Acknowledge Dr. Trinh’s dedication to her patients and the community during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
3. Protect Doctors of Integrity: Support, rather than persecute, doctors who act in their patients’ best interests, even when it means challenging government policies.
4. Ensure Transparency and Fairness: Reveal the identity of "John Smith" and investigate the suspicious coordination of complaints against Dr. Trinh.

Why We Stand with Dr. Trinh
Dr. Trinh exemplifies what it means to be a physician of integrity. Her courage to uphold her oath and prioritize patient care over rigid directives is a beacon of hope in a system increasingly driven by politics rather than science. We cannot afford to lose doctors like her—doctors who are willing to put their patients' lives above all else.

Call to Action
We urge the public, the medical community, and government leaders to stand with Dr. Trinh. Join us in demanding that the HCCC stop its campaign of persecution against her. Together, we must ensure that justice prevails and that Dr. Trinh can continue her vital work.
