Information has come to our attention regarding  Greg Simms, Porter County Council District 3 candidate.  

Greg Simms was elected to this seat in November 2018 and is back on the ballot.  During his time as a councilman, he was teaching at Washington Township High School (until Fall of 2023).

We have recently been informed about multiple potential charges of inappropriate conduct towards female student(s) over the span of his teaching career.

As women of the Porter County Democratic Party, we are concerned about these possible allegations. In this particular situation, we consider it our duty to ensure that our candidates are worthy to represent our community.                                                                       During his term as a councilman, he participated in kite & bicycle giveaways and suicide prevention, placing himself in positions where he was involved with youth.  

In order to clear this up, we hereby ask that Greg Simms release his Hebron School and Washington Township High School personnel files to the public or resign from his position and withdraw from the current race.
