Public Records Request Filed – Safety Review of Stony Hill Rd / SR-606 Intersection
As part of the effort to better understand safety conditions at the Stony Hill Road and State Route 606 intersection in Hinckley Township, I submitted a Public Records Request (PRR) to Hinckley Township on March 5, 2026.
The request seeks any public records related to:
• safety concerns at the intersection
• communications about crashes or incidents
• engineering reviews or traffic evaluations
• prior complaints or requests for safety improvements
On March 6, 2026, Hinckley Township confirmed receipt of the request and began providing responsive records. Township administration indicated that additional documents are still being researched and will be provided as they are located.
This records request is part of a broader effort to ensure that any available information about the intersection is reviewed carefully.
The goal of this petition remains simple:
We are asking for a professional safety evaluation of the intersection.
Specifically, residents have asked township officials to request a Road Safety Audit (RSA) from the appropriate transportation agencies.
A Road Safety Audit is a standard engineering review used nationwide to examine roadway design, sight distance, drainage, shoulder recovery areas, traffic speed, and other factors that may contribute to crashes or near-miss incidents.
Importantly, a Road Safety Audit does not predetermine a solution.
It simply allows professional engineers to evaluate the intersection and recommend any safety improvements that may be appropriate.
As additional records are received and reviewed, updates will continue to be posted here.
Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition and helped bring attention to roadway safety in our community.
