I, like many others, am a UPSC aspirant navigating the challenging and competitive Civil Service Exam, which requires a year of intense preparation. Although we anticipate stress and uncertainty, we believe the UPSC could make the process more aspirant-friendly.

Currently, the UPSC releases the Prelims Answer Key only after the final results, around April-May of the following year. This nearly year-long delay adds unnecessary stress and uncertainty for approximately 10 lakh aspirants annually, leaving many dedicated individuals in limbo.

In contrast, other commissions often release provisional and final answer keys within one or two months of the first stage of their exams. This timely access helps candidates make informed decisions about their future. Given this precedent, it is reasonable to expect the same from the UPSC.

We urge the UPSC to release provisional answer keys within one or two weeks and the final answer key either before or with the preliminary exam results. This change would provide clarity, reduce stress, and enhance the transparency and fairness of the process.
