On January 31, 2026, an 18 year old pledge of the Northern Arizona University chapter of the fraternity Delta Tau Delta was killed in a hazing ritual involving the forced consumption of alcohol. Hazing resulting in a persons death is classified as a Class 4 Felony (Jack’s Law, Manley Burke).

We, the undersigned, believe that Interim Suspension of the Northern Arizona University chapter of Delta Tau Delta, and the arrests of Carter Eslick (New Member Educator, 20), Ryan Creech (Vice President, 20), and Riley Cass (Treasurer, 20) are insufficient consequences for the acts of Harm (Student Code of Conduct/Section F.2.), Hazing (Student Code of Conduct/Section F.19.), Alcohol (Student Code of Conduct/Section F.15.), Off-Campus Conduct (Student Code of Conduct/Section F.17.), and Violation of Other Rules (Student Code of Conduct/Section F.4.). This is a petition for the permanent removal of the Northern Arizona University chapter of Delta Tau Delta from the university. This petition was created by Lily Haigis with information taken directly from the Flagstaff Police Department and the Northern Arizona University Student Code of Conduct.
