Petition for the Immediate Lockdown of All Men in South Delhi to Ensure Public Safety.
The Issue
To the Administration, Delhi Police, and the Government of Delhi:
In light of the severe security failure at Aastha Kunj Park on September 21, and the subsequent inability of law enforcement to secure the perimeter around LSR College, it is clear that public spaces are currently unmanageable.
To restore order, authorities have determined that the most effective solution is to remove the vulnerable demographic from the streets by forcing female students into online classes. We agree with the administration's premise that someone must be locked inside to solve this crisis.
However, basic logic dictates that we quarantine the threat, not the targets.
Therefore, we petition for the immediate, indefinite lockdown of all men in South Delhi.
Since authorities cannot identify which men pose a threat, all men must remain indoors for the greater good.
Men must shift their jobs, education, and social lives entirely online until the streets are deemed safe.
This is not a punishment; it is merely a "precautionary measure" implemented for public welfare—the exact justification used to strip female students of their mobility and campus access.
If this demand sounds absurd, unconstitutional, and fundamentally unjust, it is because it is. Yet, this is the exact logic being applied to the women of LSR College. We do not actually want a curfew on men; we want a city where equal access to public space is a guaranteed right, not a conditional privilege. Secure the streets, or admit systemic failure.
We demand:
- Fast-Track Prosecution and Maximum Statutory Penalties: We demand an expedited trial under the BNSS with daily hearings and the formal opposition of all bail applications. The state must seek the absolute maximum penalties under the BNS and POCSO Act, heavily compounding the primary charges with the perpetrators' criminal impersonation of law enforcement.
- Immediate Revocation of the Online-Class Mandate: The college administration must immediately and unconditionally reinstate offline classes. Restricting women's access to campus is a regressive penalty that punishes female students for the failure of public security. Curfews and restricted mobility must never be weaponized against women as a substitute for law enforcement.
- Time-Bound Implementation of Women’s Safety Infrastructure: Municipal and police authorities must execute a strict 48-hour infrastructural upgrade along all student transit corridors. This includes repairing defunct street lighting, eliminating dark spots, activating CCTV surveillance, and guaranteeing that designated "Pink Police Booths" and PCR vans are fully operational and continuously staffed to ensure the safety of women navigating public spaces.
- Lawful Accountability for Institutional Negligence: We demand the immediate initiation of formal departmental inquiries into any jurisdictional personnel found to have abandoned patrol routes or operational posts during the incident. Systemic negligence must be met with strict, lawful disciplinary action to ensure future public safety protocols are rigorously enforced.
