We, the undersigned residents and cricket enthusiasts of Santa Clarita, California, earnestly request our City's support in setting up cricket facilities within our vibrant city. As the sport of cricket continues to gain momentum and recognition in the United States, we believe it is essential to provide a conducive environment for the growing number of young and aspiring cricketers in our city.

Santa Clarita Cricket Academy, a non-profit organization, is committed to nurturing young talent. Currently, we have over 75 enthusiastic children enrolled in our academy, all eager to learn and excel in the sport of cricket. Unfortunately, the unavailability of proper facilities, including cricket nets, fields, and pitches, has been a significant hindrance to their development. These young athletes are deprived of the opportunity to practice and play matches effectively, hindering their growth in the sport.

Cricket is the second most popular sport globally, following soccer. In the USA, it is on an upward trajectory, evident with the successful launch of Major League Cricket (MLC), the first edition of which has generated immense interest and excitement. Furthermore, cricket is now making a comeback to the 2028 LA Olympics, solidifying its status as a sport of global significance.

In Santa Clarita, there are approximately 8 to 10 adult cricket teams, all passionate about the game. However, due to the lack of dedicated cricket facilities, these teams are compelled to play modified versions of cricket on baseball fields. This not only hampers the quality of the game but also poses safety concerns for players. We believe that with the right facilities, we can promote the game of cricket and offer a safe and welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels.

By establishing cricket facilities, we can provide a nurturing space for young talents to flourish, offer a suitable venue for adults to play the game they love, and promote the sport's growth in our city. This endeavor will also foster engagement, encourage physical activity, and contribute to the overall well-being of our residents.

We kindly request your support and assistance in securing the necessary resources and approvals for the development of cricket facilities in Santa Clarita.
