The issue

Pickleball is one of Australia’s fastest-growing sports, and the Mornington Peninsula community is ready for proper championship-level facilities.

We urge the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council to allocate funding in the 2026/2027 Shire Budget for the construction of the Southern Peninsula Pickleball Centre at Capel Sound.

At the West Rosebud Bowls & Croquet Club, the foundations are already in place. This is a shovel-ready project with established clubrooms and a huge bowling green ready for conversion to plexipave courts. With investment, this site can be transformed into a dedicated Pickleball Centre featuring six championship size courts under lights, with seating for spectators.

A purpose-built facility will promote health and wellbeing, provide inclusive recreation for all ages and abilities, and attract tournaments that support local business and tourism.

By signing this petition, you’re supporting a healthier, more connected community and investing in the future of pickleball on the Peninsula.
