County officials have just circulated an email announcing a Community Open House at the Jim Scott (Providence) Center on December 17 from 6:30-9pm to discuss development of the AT&T Site.
This open house has been organized on the principle that SOMETHING will be built there, and the County is asking us to describe WHAT that something could be.
The flyer states “This community open house will feature small group sessions and conversations where participants can help to shape the County’s long range development policy for the site.”
We ask for as many people in the community as possible to be there to let the County know that we want improved traffic conditions, appropriate density and more park land!
Smart Growth and the HOA/Civic Leadership is lobbying for:
· Current FAR of .40 only be increased to FAR .60
· Residential density of 16-20 dwellings per acre (same as re-development of Flinthill office park I, III, IV)
· Retail capped at 60,000 square feet (versus proposed 120,000 sq ft)
· Connector road built upon developer property to alleviate traffic congestion
· Five-acre Community Park
What would like to see? We hope to see you there!
