With court dates approaching on the garnishment of Mayor Chris Martin's city wages, the number of voters who want him to resign has swelled even more.

The petition drive has now surpassed 400 signatures as Martin faces additional potential legal action with his controversial arrangement with the Super 8 Motel and a bill totaling more than $45,000. The city has yet to release emails formally requested involving Martin and his negotiations with the motel. There is no indication that the outstanding bill referred to by the motel's Kokomo attorney earlier this month will be paid by the city's insurance carrier.

Meanwhile, nearby cities such as Rochester move ahead with economic development and housing plans, but there is no new business in the Cass/Logan Industrial Park and shuddered business at China Lane, Amelio's and Lin's downtown.

This situation is not improving and we again respectfully ask you to join a growing number of Logansport residents who are genuinely concerned about the future of our community and the failure of leadership to effect positive change, ethical judgment and a positive image for a city featured negatively in the media.
