Mayor Chris Martin, who may have been absent more than any city employee in the past five years, may finally be held accountable for his unexplained periods of missing in action.
WSAL/Mix 102 reporter Karen Stearns reported today that the Logansport City Council Rules Committee has approved a move that would require all city employees -- including salaried employees -- to punch a time clock. Stearns' report stated that "ghost employment" -- paying workers who don't show up for work -- has been a problem in several departments. City Attorney Kelly Leeman reportedly said he was unaware of the problem.
Meanwhile, Trash Gate continues to be a problem for the city administration. At tonight's Logansport Utility Service Board meeting, Superintendent Greg Toth and Board President Marty Monahan told Council President Dave Morris that the trash complaints to the utilities offices have continued. Martin -- again -- did not attend the meeting.
The general problems facing the city are again reasons why we implore you to sign and share our petition for Mayor Martin's resignation.
Thank you for caring for our city.
