In neighboring White County, there is an ignominious link to one of the nation's worst presidents. 

At the Whistle Stop Restaurant north of Monon, a railroad museum has the train light from Herbert Hoover's presidential special. What we know from history is that Hoover was not special. The Depression happened on his watch and he wound up tied as the ninth worst president in a U.S News and World Report poll and eighth worst by CBS News. He didn't understand what he didn't understand about the financial collapse of the country's economy and what it would take to bring the country back. Three years after it happened, he hadn't cured it and that opened the door for Franklin Roosevelt to become the only four-term president.

Today, we are asking you to sign a petition demanding Chris Martin's resignation. :Given the direction of the city and his constant absence (including today in office), can we afford to wait three years for Logansport to have a new mayor or be managed by someone else? The answer is clearly no. For sale signs have popped up suddenly around town. The recent publicity stoked by the mayor has been detrimental to our image.

Please join us in signaling to Mayor Martin that he may be the closest thing to Logansport's Herbert Hoover we've ever had, and he may go down as the worst mayor the citizens here have ever known.
