To the Honorable Pune Municipal Corporation, Hadapsar,

We, the undersigned residents of Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, Pune are writing to express our urgent concern regarding the increasing menace of stray dogs in our community. The presence of these stray dogs poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of our residents, including children & elderly individuals. We believe that immediate action is necessary to address this issue effectively.

The stray dog population in our neighborhood has been growing unchecked, leading to numerous incidents of aggressive behavior of dogs, barking & attacks on pedestrians have left residents fearful, and reluctant to venture outside. Residents have recounted instances where stray dogs lurking near road dividers have startled two wheelers riders, leading to confusion and potential accidents. Children, too, have fallen victim as dogs chase them while they play on bicycles, resulting in injuries. Additionally, the incessant barking and howling at night have caused disturbances, noise pollution affecting our quality of life and sleep.

We understand that managing the stray dog population requires a multifaceted approach, including sterilization, vaccination, and relocation to shelters. However, we feel that the current efforts by the Pune Municipal Corporation are insufficient to mitigate the problem effectively. We urge the PMC to take the following actions:

1. Increase patrols and surveillance in areas with high stray dogs activity to ensure the safety of residents.
2. Implement comprehensive sterilization and vaccination programs to control the stray dogs population humanely.
3. Establish and maintain shelters equipped to accommodate stray dogs, providing them with food, water, and medical care.
4. Collaborate with local animal welfare organizations and volunteers to streamline efforts and resources for the welfare of stray dogs.

We believe that by taking proactive measures and allocating adequate resources, the Municipal Corporation can effectively address the stray dog menace in our neighborhood and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.

We, the undersigned, urge the Pune Municipal Corporation to prioritize this issue and take immediate action to resolve the stray dog menace. Together, we can create a safer and more livable community for everyone.
