Our fight for change is just beginning!

Fellow community members I thank you for your support in the signing of this petition, we must support our DLV teachers and staff who currently have no voice in their workplace. A place where they strive to meet the academic needs and safety of their students everyday but with the current principal, they walk on eggshells; scared of how she may label or retaliate if they refuse to follow her ruling of the school.

Since the current principal took charge:

The Special education unit was without a teacher CONSISTENTLY in the classroom attending to the kids needs beginning after the Christmas break up until this past month. A teacher and paraprofessionals were investigated and removed; parents fought to open up a second unit due to the high number of students with various needs that have been working in a small classroom. Cameras in the classroom were not on till the parents went to superintendent to get them on. Students showed great regression in the past two months in class and at home due to the principal's constant medaling with changes she was making in the unit without the communication of the parents till parents got the superintendent involved. Parents had to fight for the bare minimum for their children and it took everything to move the current principal to get it done.

At least 10 staff members have been transferred (upon her request), resigned or left due to the lack of support and stressful environment.

It is believed (through anonymous resources) the current principal is taking to social media outlets blasting false and confidential information about teachers, staff and parents to keep eyes off of her.

It is believed (through anonymous resources) the principal plans to transfer and move teachers around this summer.

The principal has surveillance cameras all over the campus and watches from her office consistently waiting for someone to step out of line to write up. (Side note I have it under good authority Ms. Tamez had access to the surveillance till the current principal stopped her access to footage and then had her transferred without reasoning.)

We are on the verge of losing GREAT TEACHERS!

Do you all even know who the teacher of the year is at DLV? Probably not because the current principal is in charge of the Facebook page and yearbook and has yet to share a congratulations or celebration of the hardworking teacher who is deserving of recognition like all the other prestigious teachers from years past. But no, she is all about the self. Pictures of students and staff with her face in EVERY photo.

I have it on good authority DLV had 3 top candidates as possible principals after the transfer of Mr. Galindo: yet the current principal who was NOT one of those candidates got the job.

Teachers and staff, write up grievances, join a Texas Teacher Association, email the superintendent and CC everybody, stand together and speak up at the board meetings and continue to share this petition!

Community, please continue to share this petition, lets supports our teachers and staff at DLV!
