Petition for Justice: Stand Against the Oppression of Palestinians

The Issue

I write to you with a heavy heart, fueled by an urgent need to right the dire wrongs suffered by the Palestinian people at the hands of relentless oppression. The ongoing strife in Palestine reflects a tragic pattern in history, one that has echoed the experiences of indigenous populations worldwide, from the Khoisan to Native Americans to Aboriginal Australians.

As the world watches, countless lives are marked by violence, displacement, and systemic injustice. The United Nations reports that since 1967, approximately 800,000 Palestinians have been displaced, underscoring an unprecedented scale of human tragedy. We can no longer turn a blind eye while history repeats its darkest chapters.

In light of this, I urge you to consider the following poem, which highlights these injustices:

The Blue & Red Bullies

A dark truth lies beneath history’s shadow,
A nation destroyed for another’s glow.
Established after World War II,
Let me reveal some facts of Israel’s view.

A state placed in power by British imperialists,
To ensure their colonial power persists.
No acknowledgment to the people of Palestine,
As colonizers claim they’re of the divine.

In 1948 the catastrophe, Al Nakba, occurred.
A past so hidden, the world’s vision is obscured.
531 villages destroyed and erased,
750,000 Palestinians displaced.

This never stopped at just the Nakba,
There’s Sabra, Shatila, and Rafah.
Massacres committed by God’s chosen people,
Actions justified, no matter how gruesome or evil.

Silent voices with no one to hear them cry,
Amid the rubble, heartache and stories lie.
While justice struggles to comply,
Nations turn a blinded eye.

The West declares it moral ground,
Yet it echoes of their own resound.
Atrocities marked as “greater good,”
In a land now rubble where the innocent stood.

Fighting terrorism as soldiers of heaven,
Ironic since Hamas only existed since 1987.
No evidence of human shields can we find,
Pregnant women and children as terrorists do not come to mind.

This is no different than British colonialism,
Oppressing natives with white supremacism.
From the Aboriginal to the Native American people,
A world blinded by propaganda, it turned them into sheeple.

The USA, an independence built on systemic racism,
Polices the world with their friend Zionism.
Britain’s young brother is now the succession,
Belittling natives, read Grievance 27.

From Iraq’s sands to Libya’s shore,
The legacies of wars still help them soar.
Double standards and hypocrisy, a shroud they wear,
While the innocent plead, “this is not fair.”

It’s clear to see that the Western hegemony
Is fueled by lies and violent tyranny.
The UN is controlled by their US master,
Too afraid to stand up no matter the disaster.

In justice sought, the scales unbalanced,
The cries for peace, too often silenced.
May the souls live on in peace for those who fell,
In hope that one day, the truth will tell.

— Luciano Willemse

Thus, I petition for immediate and decisive action: the implementation of economic sanctions and termination of military assistance to Israel. This bold action is necessary to exert pressure, advocate for a just resolution, and signal our collective refusal to support the ongoing oppression of Palestinians.

Stand with me against these blatant human rights violations. Let us not be bystanders to another tragedy, but the architects of justice and equality. Sign this petition, and let our voices echo our collective demand for an end to this enduring oppression.
