After two decades of anticipation, I acquired my first home—a milestone I presumed to be routine. Faced with indifference from both the county and the builder, I embarked on a personal quest to unearth the truth behind these oversights. My findings were alarming: a county-appointed inspector had issued a use and occupancy certificate for my home without the mandatory engineering studies and validations, as dictated by the county's own regulations.
