I want to explain why I've taken a stand against our home builder and developer. This began as a simple dispute, but it quickly became clear that my concerns were being dismissed, perhaps due to assumptions about my knowledge and rights.

In February 2024, I organized a community meeting to address these issues. Instead of engaging with our concerns, the developer responded with disrespect, ignoring the mandates set by the planning board.

My journey began in December 2023 when I started to investigate structural defects in my home. This led to shocking discoveries: 13 engineering inspections had been skipped, and I received an occupancy record without these inspections. My attempts to resolve this with the builder felt like a game of dodgeball, dodging the very requirements they were supposed to meet.

The situation escalated when I found out a county inspector, a fellow Navy veteran, was complicit in this oversight. Feeling betrayed, I filed complaints with the Maryland Real Estate Licensing Board and contacted the Attorney General, alongside 104 other attorney generals, demanding intervention.

This is not just about me; it’s about all of us in Westridge facing similar disregard. The county has since terminated the inspector involved, and federal and state investigations are underway.
