We, are outraged and deeply saddened by the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother and poet, by ICE agent Jonathan Ross during a large-scale immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. This incident has sparked widespread protests and demands for justice, accountability, and transparency.

 

Our Demands:

 

1. Immediate Withdrawal of ICE from Minneapolis: We demand that ICE withdraw from Minneapolis and other cities, as their presence is causing harm and terrorizing communities.

2. Independent Investigation: We call for a full, independent investigation into the shooting, led by the Minnesota Attorney General and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, with full access to evidence and witnesses.

3. Prosecution of Jonathan Ross: We demand that Jonathan Ross be held accountable for his actions and face prosecution for the killing of Renee Nicole Good.

4. Transparency and Accountability: We call for transparency and accountability in the use of force by law enforcement agencies, including ICE.

 

Why This Matters:

 

- Renee Nicole Good was a loving mother, poet, and member of her community, who posed no threat.

- The video evidence and eyewitness accounts contradict the official narrative of the shooting, suggesting that Ross acted recklessly and with excessive force.

- This incident is part of a broader pattern of harm and abuse caused by law enforcement.
