We, the undersigned members of the FishHawk and greater Hillsborough County community, respectfully ask county officials to work toward a reasonable solution that allows Gracie FishHawk to remain open and continue serving local families.

Gracie FishHawk is more than a martial arts gym — it is a community resource that provides structured mentorship, youth development, and inclusive athletic opportunities that are difficult to replace elsewhere.

The gym currently provides:

Free classes for underprivileged youth
Training support for the local high school wrestling team
Specialized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs for children with disabilities
A safe and positive environment focused on discipline, confidence, and physical health
Discounts for law enforcement officers, military members, and first responders
These programs reduce youth delinquency, promote physical and mental wellness, and strengthen our local community.

We understand that zoning concerns and neighborhood impacts must be addressed. However, closing Gracie FishHawk outright would remove a valuable service from families who rely on it and negatively affect children who benefit from its programs every week.

We respectfully request that Hillsborough County officials explore reasonable solutions such as zoning accommodation, special use approval, conditional use permits, or operational adjustments that allow the business to continue operating while addressing compliance issues.

Gracie FishHawk represents community investment, youth opportunity, and local goodwill. We ask our county leaders to work collaboratively toward a solution that preserves these benefits rather than eliminating them.
