We, the undersigned, respectfully request that additional Federal assistance be provided in the ongoing investigation and search efforts for Emily M. Rea, who has been missing since July 15, 2024.

Emily was last seen near Hungry Horse Reservoir in Flathead County, Montana. While we are grateful for the extensive water search efforts already conducted by local and state authorities, we believe that further investigation is warranted.

• The family has been told by the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that they believe the case is an unfortunate water accident.
• We are not convinced and do not believe that the case has been thoroughly investigated as potentially criminal in nature.
• The key anomalies, when viewed together, do not add up, are inconsistent with Emily's nature, and require more thorough investigation.

We are asking the Sheriff’s Office to request federal support, resources, and expertise to bring closure to Emily's case.

Emily’s disappearance has deeply impacted our community, and we stand united in our call for expanded efforts to find her. We thank you for your immediate attention and assistance.

Emily Rea is a tenaciously self-sufficient 33 year old woman who loves living in West Glacier, where she adventures with her dog Hugo. Emily is truly a force of nature in all the best ways. She is a fearless outdoorswoman who works at the Skola, an independent nature-based school for kids in pre-K - 3rd grade. Before settling down in Flathead Valley she spent the past 12 summers set-net salmon fishing in Alaska, where she immersed herself and made deep lifelong connections to the Uganik and Kodiak communities.

Emily makes herself an integral part of her community; it’s in her nature and who she has always been.
