Petition for aisle chairs to be made mandatory on all UK flights

The Issue

As a disabled person (full time wheelchair user), I recently found myself in a scenario where I was on a flight with ALBASTAR AIRLINES contracted by TUI, whereby there was no provisions for me to go to the toilet. Usually on most airlines, there is an aisle chair (a small narrow wheelchair that assists disabled people to their seat when boarding a plane and needing to use toilet facilities).

As I cannot walk, I was left with the decision to either soil myself in my seat, or drag myself on the floor to the toilet. Staff on board this flight stated that disabled people should wear nappies on board flights - despite some disabled people not being incontinent and the fact that they run a high risk of pressure sores and infections.

At present, there is no regulation for aisle chairs to be mandatory on flights, with some airlines suggesting that disabled people should be carried or dragged to the toilet. This is painful, humiliating, dehumanising and sometimes simply not possible.

I have shared my story with thousands online, in a bid to hopefully change this.
