Petition for administrative, leave pending investigation
Petition for administrative, leave pending investigation
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are calling for Jeremy Riffle, Nate McKeand, Sarrah Aversen, and Ashli Faulkner to be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation involving allegations that they failed to properly report suspected child sex crimes involving a former Triton High School teacher and head football coach between 2022 and 2024.
As mandated reporters under Indiana law, school employees and administrators have a legal and moral obligation to immediately report suspected child abuse, sexual misconduct, or inappropriate relationships involving minors to the proper authorities. The allegations that individuals in positions of trust may have known about this situation for an extended period of time and failed to take the proper steps are deeply concerning to parents, students, and community members.
The safety and protection of children must always come first. Allowing individuals currently under investigation to continue supervising and interacting with students raises serious concerns regarding student welfare, public trust, and accountability within the school system.
We are respectfully requesting:
- Immediate administrative leave for the individuals named pending completion of the investigation.
- Full cooperation with law enforcement and child protection authorities.
- Transparency from school leadership regarding policies and procedures for reporting abuse.
- Accountability for any failures to follow Indiana mandated reporting laws.
This petition is not a declaration of guilt, but a call for responsible action, transparency, and the protection of students while the investigation proceeds.
Our children deserve a safe environment where allegations of abuse are taken seriously, reported appropriately, and handled with urgency and integrity.
By signing below, we support accountability, student safety, and adherence to Indiana law.
