Petition for a Fair and Professional Review of the GPhC 2023 Exam
Petition for a Fair and Professional Review of the GPhC 2023 Exam
The Issue
I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the recent GPhC Examination 2023 as a student who has dedicated years of hard work and effort to pursue a career in pharmacy, I found the difficulty level and overall fairness of the exam to be highly problematic and unjust.
Firstly, the questions presented in the examination were exceptionally challenging and went beyond the scope of the curriculum we have diligently studied. Many of us, including myself, were left baffled and overwhelmed by the complexity and intricacy of the questions. It is disheartening to realize that our thorough preparation and commitment were not adequately reflected in the exam.
Furthermore, the exam seemed to incorporate an excessive number of tricky and ambiguous questions. This not only caused unnecessary confusion but also made it difficult for us to demonstrate our true understanding of the subject matter. As aspiring pharmacists, we aim to provide safe and effective healthcare to the public. However, the nature of these questions seemed to undermine our ability to showcase our knowledge and skills accurately.
I strongly believe that the purpose of an examination should be to assess our competence and readiness for professional practice, rather than being an overly challenging and unfair trial. Our careers and livelihoods should not be treated as experiments or subjected to undue hardship. We are dedicated individuals who have invested considerable time, effort, and financial resources into our education, with the aim of contributing meaningfully to society.
In light of these concerns, I kindly request that the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) review the examination process and take appropriate actions to address the issues raised. It is crucial that the examination system maintains a fair and objective approach, providing students with a platform to demonstrate their knowledge and skills accurately.
