Petition: Fair Court Access for Tennis Members at David Lloyd Club Bushey

The Issue

As paying members we expect fair and reasonable access to the courts included within our membership. However the current system is making it increasingly difficult. Our concerns are :

  1. Coaches are able to book courts a day before members thus taking at least 3-4 of the available courts and booking courts where they are then not used as well
  2. The introduction of the £140 'Signature Pass' allowing certain members to pay this on top of their fees to enable them to book courts a day earlier which creates a 'two-tier' system.
  3. Members from other clubs are able to book courts at the same time as home club members.
  4. As a result courts are frequently booked before home club standard tennis members can secure one.

The situation means that many of us full paying tennis members who have been members for many years are unable to book courts. This undermines the value and purpose of our membership and affects our wellbeing.

We are asking David LLoyd Bushey to:

Review and rebalance court booking priority for home club members

Reconsider the 'Signature Pass' and its impact on court booking

Ensure coach allocations do not prevent reasonable member access (they book at the same time as most members are playing which is the mornings)

Protect the value of tennis members.

We are committed tennis members who want the club to suceed, however fair and practical access to courts must be restored.
