Petition: Create a Public Member Co‑op for the Minnesota Twins

Petition: Create a Public Member Co‑op for the Minnesota Twins
The Issue
Minnesota fans ask Twins ownership and MLB to authorize a fan‑owned Public Member Co‑op. The co‑op would hold a small, non‑controlling economic stake and deliver fan benefits and community investment. No say in baseball operations. One member, one vote inside the co‑op. Sign to request a formal feasibility process and a meeting with fans.
What we are asking
Meet with a fan delegation and community partners to discuss a Public Member Co‑op by October 31, 2025.
Commission an independent feasibility study on a co‑op minority, non‑controlling stake and report results publicly.
If viable, publish a timeline and guardrails for a compliant offering that preserves MLB’s control‑person rules.
Why this helps Minnesota
Locks in long‑term local alignment between club and community.
Channels small‑dollar support into youth baseball and neighborhood grants.
Rewards members with tangible benefits instead of speculative returns.
Builds loyalty and stable revenue without touching baseball decisions.
How it can work
Structure: A Minnesota cooperative association forms a special‑purpose LLC that holds a minority, non‑voting economic interest in the Twins’ holding entity. MLB’s control person remains unchanged.
Member funding: Tiered memberships (e.g., $100, $250, $500). Perks over payouts: ticket presales, co‑op nights, member merch, ballpark experience votes, community days. Optional higher tiers for small businesses.
Governance: One member, one vote for the co‑op board. Independent audit and annual public report. Advisory‑only liaison to the club.
Community fund: At least 10% of net surplus dedicated to youth sports and neighborhood programs.
Transfers: No open secondary market; limited redemptions to protect mission.
Guardrails we support
No control over roster, coaching, or baseball operations.
Clear caps on the co‑op’s maximum economic stake.
Compliance with MLB ownership policies and securities laws.
Strict brand guidelines; no use of official marks without permission.
Let's Get this Team Back on Track!
Sign if you support a transparent process to evaluate this model and bring fans into durable, mission‑aligned ownership. Share with three people who attend at least one game a year.
Legal note
This petition is not an offer to sell or buy securities. It requests a meeting, a feasibility study, and a public process consistent with MLB rules and applicable law.
