Dear Petition Supporters,

I would like to share an important update regarding our petition and recent developments.

Yesterday afternoon, Thursday 6th of February, we were received at the Ministry of Foreign Affaris and had a meeting with Dutch Human Rights Ambassador Wim Geerts, where we personally presented him with our petition calling for the cancellation of the state visit due to the ongoing human rights concerns in Kenya.

During the meeting, Ambassador Geerts took the time to discuss the criticism surrounding the visit and listen carefully to the concerns raised by Kenyans. He acknowledged the importance of addressing these issues. He told us that he will be traveling to Kenya later this month and while there, he plans to meet with young people, civil society representatives, human rights defenders, and Kenyan authorities to engage in meaningful dialogue about the human rights situation.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have our voices heard, and we will continue to monitor developments closely.
