As a resident of Broughton Road Pedmore, I was shocked to see that BRSK has started marking pavements for the installation of telegraph poles without consulting with the residents. This is not only disrespectful but also unnecessary.

I have done my research and found out that there are underground connections available with other broadband suppliers, and no connection issues via the existing suppliers. The installation of these poles will obstruct the view from our properties and also alter how our neighbourhood looks.
According to a study by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, there were 1,388 fatalities caused by contact with overhead power lines from 1992-2010. We cannot risk the safety of our community for something that is not needed.

Furthermore, the installation of these poles will decrease property values in our area. A study by Zillow found that homes located near power lines sell for an average of 4.9% less than homes located farther away.

We demand that BRSK halt their plans to install telegraph poles in our neighbourhood immediately and explore alternative options such as underground connections.

Our community deserves better than this disregard for our safety and property values. Join me in signing this petition to protect our neighbourhood from unnecessary telegraph pole installations.
