Please sign this petition to raise awareness for municipal library preservation. 

The Windermere library was permanently shut down in early 2024 and the Musgrave Library in Glenwood Village is currently under temporary closure.

We fear that the Musgrave library will soon also be gone in a city that is already very library-scarce. 

We need libraries. 

Safe, accessible, well-maintained libraries. 

Especially in a country still grappling with qualitatively low literacy rates in the age of artificial intelligence and misinformation. 

We risk a society where people do not have the skill to know real information from what is false, and worse, how to find that information in the first place.

Your signature adds the weight of your voice in asking that our municipality be clear, open, and transparent with us as to what it would take to get the library open again and further account for how much of our taxes and rates go toward the library as a community benefit. 

Let's protect this very important and necessary space. Libraries are where we gain the knowledge of world-making, where we find safety and this is necessary now more than ever.
