Petition 4 HYBE to step down from his position!
The Issue
HYBE company is known for starting scandals:
- 2026 removed member Heeseung from ENHYPEN. This was a cover up to distract the media from the Bang Si-Hyuk investigation.
- Fraud & Unfair Trading Investigation (Chairman Bang Si-hyuk)
Case: The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has conducted raids and investigations into Chairman Bang Si-hyuk regarding allegations of violating the Capital Markets Act.
Allegations: Bang is accused of misleading early investors in 2019 by claiming there were no plans for an IPO, while secretly selling shares to a private equity fund to make an illicit profit of approximately 190–200 billion won ($135–146 million).
Status: As of Oct 2025, Bang was banned from leaving the country during the probe. HYBE has denied these allegations and pledged to cooperate. - Kim Garam (LE SSERAFIM - 2022): Following a bullying scandal shortly after debut, HYBE and Source Music terminated Kim Garam’s contract in July 2022. Despite initial denials of the accusations, growing public pressure and evidence led to her removal and the group continuing as a five-member team.
- Danielle (NewJeans - 2025): In December 2025, following a major legal dispute between ADOR (a HYBE subsidiary) and NewJeans members regarding their contracts, the label stated it would be "difficult to continue together," resulting in a split
- NewJeans members reported feeling mistreated and ignored by senior members of the agency, leading to public statements regarding their treatment.
- Historically, the company has dealt with issues surrounding artists under its labels, such as the disbandment of Glam in 2014.
- In February 2026, private KakaoTalk messages between BTS' V (Kim Taehyung) and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin were submitted as evidence in her lawsuit against HYBE. V expressed extreme bewilderment, stating it was a private chat based on empathy, not support, and that he had "no intention of taking sides"
- Management & Protection Issues: Fans have expressed significant concerns over HYBE’s failure to protect members, particularly Manon, from online harassment and rumors, leading to questions about the company's competence in managing the group.
Member Hiatus & Tension: Manon announced a temporary hiatus due to health reasons, but this caused speculation about internal team tensions and forced departure, driven by fan concerns over her treatment within the group.
Management Structure: KATSEYE is a joint venture between HYBE America and Geffen Records, and some perspectives suggest that the involvement of two different companies has led to less cohesive, and sometimes chaotic, management compared to traditional K-pop groups.
Marketing Strategy: HYBE and Geffen have been criticized for their marketing approach, which some fans feel is causing the group to struggle, while others believe they are successfully targeting a younger, TikTok-oriented audience.
Overall Strategy: Despite the issues, the project is viewed as a crucial "test" for HYBE in launching a global group, with massive investment behind it
HYBE might be a major company, but is it really efficient? HYBE used Heeseung as a sacrificial pawn just to cover up his own/staff scandals. HYBE isn't even trying to protect/help with the BTS V case. HYBE has a record of removing members from groups, for almost always illogical reasons. JYP stepped down from JYP entertainment, but we don't NEED him to. HYBE is the one starting all these scandals in kpop. They might run major groups like BTS, but do they really treat them right, do they really help support their members? Or does HYBE just use them for their own benefits? BTS is popular for their own talent, just like any other group under HYBE. HYBE also dosent give rest to its members.
Ex. 2026 Heeseung "left" SUDDENLY on March 10. HYBE had a scheduled performance for ENHYPEN on March 14, did they cancel to help the group work things out with choreo, positions, lines etc.? NO! On the morning show, two of the members mentioned that they have A LOT of practices and changes in choreo. HYBE didn't even consider what forcing Heeseung out of the group could do to ENGENE, ENHYPEN, and Heeseung himself. But most of all he didn't consider what it could do to him.
We, global supporters of BTS (ARMY), SEVENTEEN (CARAT), TOMORROW X TOGETHER (MOA), ENHYPEN (ENGENE), LE SSERAFIM (FEARNOT), NewJeans (Bunnies/Tokki), BOYNEXTDOOR (ONEDOOR), TWS (42/SAI), and ILLIT (LILLY) will come together to support our groups, and guarantee them the right treatment.
