Petfinder's policy is negatively impacting horse welfare by not allowing horses and other animals rescued from the slaughter pipeline to be posted on their adoption platform. This policy change has resulted in the deactivation of numerous horse welfare organization accounts, even those in good standing for over 10 years.

Petfinder's actions directly affect the lives of horses, leading to increased slaughter and decreased adoption rates. We urge Petfinder to reconsider their Terms of Service and Code of Conduct by including an exemption for horses and farm animals who would otherwise be slaughtered for human consumption if not rescued by paying the actual slaughter price for them.

This simple change could save countless animals from horrific fates. By pushing organizations to stop rescuing horses from the slaughter pipeline, Petfinder is ultimately encouraging horse slaughter.

Petfinder's deactivation of horse welfare organization accounts, due to their rescue of horses from the slaughter pipeline, has unintended negative consequences.  Many of these organizations also rescue dogs and cats, and deactivation prevents these animals from finding much-needed homes.

Furthermore, Petfinder's actions discredit reputable non-profit and rescue organizations by singling out those actively working to save horses from slaughter.  Organizations with good IRS standing and excellent veterinarian references should be allowed to post adoptable animals on Petfinder.

Please be a voice for slaughter-bound animals by signing this petition and urging Petfinder to change their policy. Allow horses and other animals rescued from the slaughter pipeline by paying their slaughter price a chance at finding a loving home through their adoption platform.
