This petition is written to the heads of four large petcare companies: Outward Hound, PetSafe, Mammoth, and Kong. The request is simple: Please relocate your products' manufacturing to a country that has laws against animal cruelty. 

The world looks on in abject horror as China continues its practices of eating dog meat, and using barbaric means of farming dogs for meat and fur; all the while companies that profess to love animals continue to trade with it - having their products made, and also selling their products there. Many pet care companies produce products that are made in China, not just those named above. These same companies all assert their love of animals, and that they have the interests and concerns of your pets at heart. The hypocrisy of the situation is just too much. I do not believe that any company that truly loves dogs can continue to condone (through active agreement or passive silence) this horrendous and truly heartbreaking practice that is institutionally supported by the Chinese government. The Yulin Dog Meat "festival" involves acts of unimaginable cruelty; acts that would result in prison sentences for those carrying them out in countries that have laws to protect animals.

The Chinese government have shown they have just as little regard for international opinion as they do for the rights of animals; and so the only thing we can do is to try and make ourselves heard in ways they will listen. All I ask to the heads of these companies is that you think about it, just consider what your company is helping to maintain; and consider what it means to the millions of people that are opposed to it. It may not be easy for you to switch manufacturing sites, but it is easy for us to not buy your products. Please help us to end the nightmare that these poor animals endure, and stand up for the rights of your biggest customers.
