Positive and hopeful meeting with the Parks Trust on 4 February 2025

Dear supporters of our Pesticide free Milton Keynes petition,

On 4 February our action group met with Chris Bridgman, vice chair of the Parks Trust Board of Trustees and chair of the operations committee at the Parks Trust, which manages 6000 acres of our green space and 80 miles of our verges.  We showed him our dossier of evidence why the spraying should stop - photographs of spraying in our parks and on our verges, statistics relating to the declines in wildlife and biodiversity, and health risks posed by spraying pesticides.

At this time, the Parks Trust position is ‘to continue to reduce the use of herbicides and explore alternative methods of vegetation control’.

But we hope very much that 2025 will be the breakthrough year and the spraying of green spaces in our city will stop……..
