Permit Parking on Buderim Street's Nature Strip

Permit Parking on Buderim Street's Nature Strip
The issue
The lack of safe and practical parking options on Buderim Street, Battery Hill/Currimundi, calls for attention as council moves to enforce local laws restrictions on nature strip parking. To ensure a feasible solution to this problem, it's crucial that the local council permits parking on the nature strip of Buderim Street.
Logan City Council is an example of a council whom allows nature strip parking:
"When there is no other safe option, you can park your vehicle partially or fully on a nature strip if:
-the road is narrow - less than 6 metres wide
-you don’t block a footpath
-you can leave a gap of at least 1.2 metres to allow pedestrian or mobility access." (www.logan.qld.gov.au).
Buderim Street is unique as it is a highly trafficked road and homes are accessed via service road meaning there is not the usual verge parking available. We request that council considers altering local laws in a similar fashion to Logan City Council or installs signage to permit parking on the nature strip.
