- As residents affected directly by the current rules, we witness the effects of rigid parking regulations during special events. These restrictions not only inhibit our family members from visiting our homes, they also usher in unintended consequences for our community. Due to a shortage of parking, many are forced to park in their yards, leading to potential damage to our properties, and consequential decrease of our property values. While we understand the intention behind these restrictions is to ensure safety and order, the dominating side effect is the dissipation of our community spirit and financial stress. For many of us, our homes are our largest investment; witnessing the decline in our property values due to outdated regulations is indeed distressing. Hence, we are advocating for the city to accommodate the parking during special events. This wouldn't only protect our home values but also bring life back to our gatherings.
