Jim Ross, born James William Ross, is a multifaceted American public figure known for his extensive career in professional wrestling and law. As a professional wrestling commentator, sports announcer, and podcaster, Ross is widely recognized for his iconic role as a play-by-play commentator in WWE, earning the affectionate nickname "Good Ol' JR" and being celebrated as one of the greatest wrestling commentators of all time. He is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he contributes as a commentator, analyst, and senior advisor. Beyond wrestling, Ross is a restaurateur and a member of the Republican Party. In his legal career, he holds a JD from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Dallas Baptist University. His professional roles have included Supervising Attorney at McCurdy & McCurdy, LLP, Mayor of Arlington, and Principal Attorney at Jim Ross Law Group, P.C. Additionally, he served in the US Marine Corps and as a Police Officer in Arlington's Special Operations Unit.
