Hi all.

You read the title so you already know. I have quietly watched John Gray for a couple of years now. The first set of alarm bells first went off in Fall 2018 as I watched John do the bizarre interview at Sister Circle Live which was full of red flags but I will mention the main 2 parts of this interview that disturbed me the most:

"Now I am dealing with the unintended consequences of not healing properly from sexual abuse. Or not having the proper information to foster intimacy. Or what it means to be a Christian... and a child of a single parent and not know what it means to build your house." -John Gray

"The wife that I chose is better than the man that I am. I married a woman two sizes too big. I have to grow into Aventer. She is a coat, I still can't fit her. She is bigger than me and she's had to cover me while I grow up." - John Gray

I remember shuddering when I was hearing all this. For anyone who has been in the church for a while and truly understands the importance of a pastor being right with God, I shuddered at the thought of him laying hands and ministering to others in that broken state. Someone who is has admitted themselves that they have not yet healed from past trauma and are still growing up are in NO CONDITION to be leading/pastoring a church. A pastor needs to have their life IN ORDER. He admitted that he was dealing with consequences for a long list of issues and it was back then (Fall 2018) that he needed to step away from the spotlight, go on a minimum 6 month leave or so and get some serious counseling and perhaps a spiritual retreat to get his life in order. I guess the paychecks and exposure from reality TV were too good for him to step back/slow things down.

Shortly after the Sister Circle interview, John Gray gifts his wife a $200,000 Lamborghini. As a man of God, he should be setting the example of what it means to walk humbly before the Lord. He received so much backlash that he had to make a video defending himself and claimed that he didn't use church money to buy the car but used money from book sales and reality TV to pay for the car. The way he got extremely defensive and snapped, "Get that in your spirit!" in his defense video just did not sit well with me. And while he may be telling the truth about how he paid for the car, I came across these verses:

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. -Proverbs 11:2

This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. -Jeremiah 9:23

Once again, this man is A PASTOR and the Bible is filled with verses telling us to live humble. And no, I am not saying his wife should drive around in an old beat up car. I believe that he could of bought his wife a different car, less expensive but still a very nice car and the gift should of been given privately and not put up on social media for everyone to see. When you are a pastor with the spotlight the way John Gray has the spotlight, people will watch your every move. People are looking up to this man and his wife as examples on how to live a humble Christian life and EVERYTHING about the lambo situation screamed "lack of humility." 

Then comes the first major cheating scandal. "I was failing as a husband," says John Gray as Aventer took the mic and blamed the devil and some "strangle woman" for her husband's "shortcomings." That video was hard to watch. A couple of months after this confession, they decide to go on a major media tour to clear the air and move past the cheating scandal. One of their stops was to the talks show The Real where John and Aventer discussed the cheating scandal. It was here where John nervously talked about his affair and claimed it was only emotional even though there are leaked voicemails where John is telling the affair partner, "My wife saw the text messages from Friday, she knows you were in the same hotel as me but she does not know." It's quite obvious that the affair was physical but I guess if he admitted to that, at least publicly, the church would drop him. It was around this time when a video was uploaded of TD Jakes laying hands on John Gray and saying the spirit of suicide was hanging by his house. I was sad over this but I figured that at this point, everyone including TD Jakes knew he was in trouble and John would finally get some help and would get it together and he could come back stronger from all of this.

Then came the second cheating scandal. And the evidence was worse this time. Several video conversations between John and his mistress are leaked, including one where John is at an airport telling his mistress to hurry up and pack a two piece bathing suit because he is taking her on vacation to Cabo. You mean to tell me that after the going on a whole media tour to get back out there and clear your name, you decide to cheat AGAIN?!?!?! He released an apology video for the areas of his life that he left "unattended." There was something that he said in that previous apology video that considering the 2022 cheating scandal, is just infuriating:

"Use discernment of the Holy Spirit to see if this is remorse or repentance. I have learned that remorse simply means is I'm sad because you found out. Repentance is I'm sorrowful and I will change." -John Gray, Apology video

Well..... he cheated AGAIN. And this time, John sent videos of himself to the mistress. Fully exposed. Touching his private area and telling her to come visit him. At this point, I don't think John Gray wants to be a pastor anymore but the money/lifestyle is too good to walk away from. What infuriates me the most about this entire situation is that the spotlight should be on Jesus but time and time again, he gets caught up in some scandal. I know he released another video of sorts indirectly addressing this situation but I didn't bother watching it because I AM DONE. He cannot hide behind brokenness, his 16 year-old self, the "strange woman," past sexual abuse, the devil or whatever other excuse he comes up. THERE IS NO EXCUSE THIS TIME!!!! This man is about to turn 50 and this isn't a mistake or a one time slip-up. This man has been living in sin for many years and I am beyond exhausted of hearing excuse after excuse and watching Relentless Church continue giving him a pass. I have watched other pastors get caught up in similar and/or lesser scandals and the elders act swiftly and permanently fire the pastors. Praise God for elders that act quickly to remove pastors that are caught in sin. It is people like John Gray who give Christianity a bad name and I literally cannot take it anymore. How on earth is this man STILL ALLOWED TO STEP ON THE PULPIT?!?! If the elders in that church have ANY INTEGRITY they will permanently remove this man from the pulpit..... unless of course.... people don't really go to Relentless Church because of Jesus but they go to see a reality TV star, a man who has been to the White House, a man who has fame and influence. I truly hope that is not the case. I also looked at the Relentless website and checked the list of elders and apparently, the main elder there is Robert Gray, a man who just so happens to have the same last name as John. Is Elder Robert Gray is a relative of John Gray? If so, that would explain why John continues to get a pass.

John Gray is not a Christian. Christianity is more than a belief, it is a way of life and he needs to be removed from the pulpit permanently NOW!!!!

There was something Aventer said during the first cheating scandal that really stayed with me:

"I am his rib. Rest in Brokenness. I am his Rest in Brokenness until he wakes up and understands who he is. " -Aventer Gray

Welp. He never woke up. We're in 2022 and he is STILL CHEATING. This petition has been a long time coming. I am very sad that it has come to this, I did not want to create this post but John left me no choice. It truly saddens me that I have to create this petition to hopefully create the change that I want for Relentless. The people of God deserve better and I hope John Gray is permanently removed from Relentless Church. Thank you for taking the time to read this. God bless.
