Zuckerberg and Facebook - stop taking hundreds of millions of dollars from charities.

The Issue

In 2020, when millions of people across the world were losing their jobs, struggling to put food on the table and our healthcare systems were crippled trying to deal with the COVID pandemic, Facebook's ad revenue increased by 15 billion dollars and they continued to take hundreds of millions of dollars in ad revenue from charities and non-profits.

We are outraged at this and have built a solution. Facebook's greed and one-sided commercial models will only fuel the damage, misinformation, and economic destruction. We need to unite and hold Facebook and Zuckerberg accountable for their actions. Facebook connects 2.4 billion people on the planet, but it does not unite us for good. We call on everyone to stand with us on the WeAre8 app and hold Facebook accountable. Sign our petition to call on Facebook to:

 - Immediately create a Facebook Charity Fund that actively deploys 15 Billion dollars to charities every year.

- STOP taking ad dollars from charities. After all - that is just taking more money from the people who generously donate. Give every charity a free Facebook/Instagram ad allocation aligned with their size.

- Stop stripping people of their economic value and share 60% of every ad dollar you receive with the people who watch ads. That is what we do at WeAre8.

 - Amend your algorithms so that charities can speak to 100% of their own audiences for free and enable PwC to audit this.

Charities - please boycott Facebook in November 2021, ahead of the COP26 Climate Summit.
