The consultation process of the application was inadequate! Local residents of Dorans Road have written to the council with many reasons to reject the proposal, but the broader community have not had a chance to voice their opinion on the proposal.

Now is your chance to voice your opinion on a project that will shape the future of the foreshore.

The proposed concrete & steel jetty is an L-shape with a total length of 67 m and includes a large boat shed and wire security fencing to prevent public access. 

The main points of concern raised so far include:

• PRIVATISATION OF FORESHORE (Crown land and public water) to benefit one resident's recreational pursuits (i.e., boating) when numerous other users, neighbours and care-takers want the foreshore to remain in a natural state for multiple uses.
• the NEED for a private facility on Crown land and public water when a public ramp exists on the same road (Dorans Rd), and both moorings and marinas are available in the municipality to store large vessels (e.g., moorings at Cremorne or marina Bellerive).  
• the PRECEDENT this will set for the municipality and potential loss of public amenity and aesthetics is immense. This is the first domino, if we let it fall will we see our public foreshore taken for private use?
• the ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT to the site and surrounds.
